The bad habit of turning your white teeth yellow

☆★○●◎ 2021. 1. 2. 13:05

Yellowish teeth make you lose confidence in everything. He can't smile confidently in front of the camera, and he keeps covering his mouth when he is mixed people. It doesn't change even if you brush your teeth hard to get them back, but that's the only time you visit the dentist to get your teeth scaled. Any neglect of dental care can be sufficient for anyone. In particular, bad habits that you practiced unknowingly have a serious negative effect on your teeth whitening. We need to take a preliminary look at the bad habit of turning our teeth yellow to prevent this mishap. So if you want strong white teeth, please remember the following and be familiar with it.

1. Wrong brushing habits that I thought were right.

The least effort we make to make healthy and white teeth is brushing our teeth. However, brushing your teeth is also a shortcut to ruining your teeth when you have a bad habit. If you brush your teeth for a long time, you will be able to maintain clean teeth, but this could damage your teeth and gums, causing damage to the gums or discoloration of the teeth's surface. It is the same for brushing your teeth within 20 minutes of eating. If you brush your teeth right after meals, the denture, which is a tooth tissue, will peel off and damage your teeth. It is most desirable to brush your teeth for at least two to three minutes after 30 minutes after meals.

2. Brush your teeth and gargle in 30 minutes.

If you brush your teeth and finish it with a gargle, it will somehow make your teeth fresher and stronger, but this is wrong information. When the "synthetic surfactant (SLS)" ingredient in toothpaste meets the chloride in gargle, it causes coloring and discolors the teeth to black. In addition, if gargle is made right after brushing, normal bacteria in the mouth will die, and in severe cases, there is a high possibility of developing "mouth disease" that causes mold in the mouth. Therefore, it is best to gargle 30 minutes after brushing your teeth.

3. Excessive use of dental floss

There are people who always use dental floss because they are not full of just brushing their teeth. Of course, it is a good habit to use dental floss to remove residues from your teeth. However, excessive use of dental floss can irritate the gums and cause diseases such as periodontitis. In particular, as many as 500 kinds of bacteria live in our mouths, special attention should be paid to inflammation. So, try to refrain from excessive use of dental floss.

4. Taking aspirin while your gums are inflamed

When your gums are swollen or inflamed and suffering from severe pain, you naturally find painkillers or aspirin. However, if you have inflammation in your gums or teeth, never chew or melt aspirin. This is because the ingredients of the medicine may touch the inflammation and in severe cases, certain parts of the teeth may melt down. Aspirin when you have a toothache is helpful for relieving pain, but it is recommended that you swallow it with water.

5. Fruits that discolor teeth that we didn't even know.

We are well aware that coffee, candy, and soda are not good for our teeth. However, stimulating food containing chemical additives is not the only thing that is harmful to the teeth. Lemons and berries also contribute to yellowing teeth when consumed excessively. Acid substances in lemons destroy the enamel that surrounds the teeth, causing discoloration of the teeth. berries such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries also cause pigmented particles to get tangled between teeth, which adversely affects teeth. The sour and sweet taste of fruit is always attractive, but let's refrain from eating it a little considering the health and whitening of your teeth.

6. Drink sweet drinks before brushing your teeth.

It is often known that brushing your teeth after meals is correct. Especially in the case of sweet food, you may believe it is more so. However, in fact, in the case of sugary drinks such as smoothies and fruit juices, it is more effective for dental health and whitening to be consumed after brushing before and afterwards. This is because fluoride, the ingredient of toothpaste, protects the enamel layer of the tooth, preventing tooth decay from acidic ingredients of the drink. In other words, brushing your teeth after drinking is not effective at all in preventing corrosion, and brushing your teeth before taking a drink is more beneficial to whitening your teeth and health.

7. Swim with open mouth

Did you know that swimming with your mouth open has a serious effect on tooth decay and whitening? The chlorine-sterilized pool water is in the form of weak hydrochloric acid. This causes rapid corrosion of tooth enamel. During swimming, you should refrain from opening your mouth more than necessary and regularly check the chlorine level in the pool.
